Annual Chronicle 2024: “Collaboration is key.

Mobility46's journey towards a sustainable future continues
When Mobility46 was founded in 2011 by Johannes Asp and Pelle Sjögren, the vision was clear: to contribute to the transformation of society in mobility, driven by digitalisation, automation and electrification. Parking garages would no longer be static spaces, but dynamic service areas for parking as well as electric car charging, car pools and other ancillary services. In 2024, we have taken several steps forward in this direction — not least through new collaborations, innovative solutions and our first annual industry event, the Sthlm E-Mobility Summit.

A Year of Innovation and Lessons Learned
2024 has been a year of lessons and insights, both for Mobility46 and the industry at large. Pelle reflects:
“There has been a clear maturity in how parking and electric car charging are related. We are pleased that we invested early in building a system that meets these needs.”
John points out another important insight:
“Collaboration is key. This year's development has shown that integration and cooperation overcome competition. It's a watershed moment for the industry.”
Sthlm E-Mobility Summit: A forum for cooperation
One of the most significant moments of the year was the launch of Sthlm E-Mobility Summit, a forum for industry leaders to discuss e-mobility, sustainability and innovation. John describes the purpose:
“We wanted to help the industry by highlighting the best solutions and creating a forum for collaboration rather than competition. The event was a success, thanks in part to an international look and participants who were curious and open to dialogue.”
Pelle adds:
“The most inspiring thing was to see actors who are otherwise competitors standing side by side to discuss common solutions. It shows that we as an industry can make great strides forward together.”

The mobility landscape of the future
Looking ahead, both Johannes and Pelle see big changes on the horizon. John predicts:
“We are moving towards an industry with better services, marketable prices and higher customer satisfaction. It's about creating long-term sustainable business models that are open to innovation and integration.”
Pelle reflects on the role of electrification:
“Electric car charging and parking are starting to find their proper levels, both in terms of price and technology. It is a necessary development to meet the increasing demands for sustainable mobility.”
Partnership for Sustainable Development
A key theme in 2024 has been the importance of partnerships. Mobility46 has strengthened its relationships with both customers and integration partners during the year. Pelle says:
“Our collaborations show that we can create holistic solutions that benefit both business and society. We look forward to continuing to build on these relationships and take new initiatives that drive the industry forward.”

What awaits 2025?
With the future in sight, Mobility46 looks forward to continuing to create value for both customers and society. John reflects:
“The business cycle we are in now has resulted in a consolidation in the industry. This in turn leads to specialization — everyone does not do everything anymore, but focuses on what they are good at. This specialization will lead to profitability because you get more volume on what you are best at. Once the profitability is there, then long-term technology investments can become possible. Here, too, I see integrations as a natural progression. Over the next five years, we're going to see this domino effect really take shape.”
Pelle concludes:
“Our role is to continue developing systems that support this transformation. Through innovation, partnership and collaboration, we will continue to lead the development of e-mobility and parking.”
Together towards a sustainable future
2024 has been a year of innovation and lessons learned, but it is only the beginning. Mobility46 looks forward to continuing to drive the development of sustainable mobility forward — together with customers, partners and the industry as a whole.
“The most inspiring thing was to see actors who are otherwise competitors standing side by side to discuss common solutions. It shows that we as an industry can make great strides forward together.”
